The Boston Diaries

The ongoing saga of a programmer who doesn't live in Boston, nor does he even like Boston, but yet named his weblog/journal “The Boston Diaries.”

Go figure.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine

[I want to say that I hope whoever wins gets The Mandate From Heaven, but that brings up China and a whole host of political issues that I don't really want to think about, nor get into at this time. So I'm going to stick with “landslide” for now (and not in the Fleetwood Mac sense).]

So.

The 2020 Presidential Election is over, at least for me. What ever happens, happens, and I'm going to avoid all news for the next day or so just to preserve what's left of my sanity.

And like last time, I (along with Bunny) walked to the polling station, and despite it being the most crowded I've seen, we didn't have to wait to vote. We were in and out in under ten minutes.

I just hope that whoever wins, wins by a landslide.

Just a few amusing signs I saw on the way to vote

On the walk to the polling station, I saw a few signs that I found amusing.

[“DOGS for 2020—BECAUSE HUMANS SUCK” I'm sure if actual dogs were in the race, they would win. Heck, even a goat could probably win this Presidential Election.]

And in the yard of the house with the warning sign:

[A skeleton holding a BIDEN sign—yeah, I guess he has a few bones to pick with Biden.]

And in some other election news, I wonder how Velma Owen is doing in the elections

Can this year get … no … wait … I best not ask

[Path of Hurricane Eta heads west, then take a hard turn to the northeast, right towards Florida—BOING!]

Of course it is.

You have my permission to link freely to any entry here. Go ahead, I won't bite. I promise.

The dates are the permanent links to that day's entries (or entry, if there is only one entry). The titles are the permanent links to that entry only. The format for the links are simple: Start with the base link for this site: https://boston.conman.org/, then add the date you are interested in, say 2000/08/01, so that would make the final URL:

https://boston.conman.org/2000/08/01

You can also specify the entire month by leaving off the day portion. You can even select an arbitrary portion of time.

You may also note subtle shading of the links and that's intentional: the “closer” the link is (relative to the page) the “brighter” it appears. It's an experiment in using color shading to denote the distance a link is from here. If you don't notice it, don't worry; it's not all that important.

It is assumed that every brand name, slogan, corporate name, symbol, design element, et cetera mentioned in these pages is a protected and/or trademarked entity, the sole property of its owner(s), and acknowledgement of this status is implied.
